About plot robot
Robots, I now divide them into two types.
The first type is that the work targets are not people.
Second, the work targets people.
For the first type, such as industrial robots, such as sweeping robots, etc. The object of industrial robot work is a certain node or other in the process. The sweeping robot works towards the floor of the room.
For the second type, I now call them plot robots.
This type of robot works towards people. For example, early childhood education robots are designed to work with children. Tour guide robots are targeted at tourists.
The reason why they are collectively called plot robots is because in order to do their jobs well, these robots need to play corresponding roles like humans. Only in this way can robots replace human-related occupations, instead of mechanically completing a part of the simple and repetitive work of this occupation.
Take the tour guide robot as an example. The tour guide profession plays a dominant role in the work. Even if a tour guide robot wants to replace the tour guide's profession, it needs to lead the entire tour process of tourists. Instead of simply going to a fixed place to talk about fixed content, plus some passive questions and answers.
We can think of the job of a tour guide as taking tourists through a plot.
For example, in museums, many tour guides do not mechanically explain the history of some exhibits, but instead string together all the contents to be told according to certain clues in the entire exhibition hall to form a story, even a very rich story. In this way, the tourist experience will be better.
So the tour guide robot also needs to do this, otherwise it will just be a silly and mechanical machine. The user experience will also be very poor, and it will not play much practical role in actual applications.
So at this time, taking tourists through a plot is no longer a purely technical issue. What this robot needs first is not a process, but a script. Then use technical means to let the robot perform the script. And they must be able to handle various unexpected situations during the "performance", such as questions from tourists, obstacle avoidance, multi-robot collaboration, etc.
