In the eyes of many people, there seems to be no difference between SAAS and the backend, at least not fundamentally.

Therefore, many people have the same idea of doing SAAS as they do backend.

But in fact, SAAS and the backend are really different.

For many SAAS products, customers will give feedback that they cannot understand, cannot operate, etc. What's the reason?

Difference 1: Users are different

The users in the backend are all internal personnel of the company, and most of them are even technical personnel. They all have a high level of familiarity with the entire system. Therefore, they only need to simply add, delete, modify and check.

Users of SAAS products come from all walks of life, and their ability to operate the system is generally weak, or even much weaker. Therefore, what they need more is to perform corresponding operations in their own work scenarios and processes to complete their own work content.

Difference 2: The difference between business-oriented and data-oriented

The backend is data-oriented. The backend is the management of data (to put it bluntly, it is adding, deleting, modifying, and checking).

SAAS products are business-oriented. It needs to be designed according to different user roles and business processes. Need to think more about: who (role), what to do (to achieve what purpose), how to do it (process).
